vonvogue 's Thoughts:

Before I went to New York last week, I always thought I was well prepared and trained properly for the Eastern Winter. People often mention that Winter in East coast is terrible; based on my personal experience, it’s quiet true, actually.

Below is how you should imagine the coldness in New York.

As soon as you walk to the outside from the building entrance, within a few minutes or even a few seconds, the blood in your fingertips start flowing at a very slow-paced speed and becoming as red as the color of a Red Delicious apple. For a moment, you might think they are turning into one of those colorful Popsicle sticks. And now you start wondering, maybe rubbing your hands in between an instant heat pack should work – unfortunately, it didn’t work very well. There was a night that I walked from my hotel to a café in Little Italy to meet Jenny, and I put a heat pack in the back pocket of my jeans. It was blustery that night. After ten minutes of walking on the street in the strong and freezing wind, I couldn’t even feel anything from the heat pack. Later that night, I found a few bruises on my legs (which I’m still not sure how I got them). Even now, my skin is still dead drying, no matter how much lotion or oil I put on.

So as a result, the shoot was done in less than ten minutes – probably it’s the shortest photoshoot I have ever done so far. I wore this beautiful BCBGMAXAZRIA dress to the Herve Leger fashion show

with Mavi skinny jeans and Sam Edelman laced-up booties, wrapping a giant scarf from Uniqlo (or you can wear it as a poncho) around my neck while trying to bury my face in.
